dragon-quest-mobileRight, we did bring you word a couple of months back that Dragon Quest VII will get more mobile, and here we are with word that Dragon Quest VII as well as Dragon Quest VIII will eventually be made available to those who are rocking to the highly portable and extremely popular Nintendo 3DS – although it will not happen anytime this year, but rather, appear on the mobile platform next year instead.

This is definitely cause for Dragon Quest fans to celebrate at long last, as the Nintendo 3DS remakes of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King have been a long time in coming, and North America will be able to enjoy the fruits of the developer’s labor some time next year.

First released on the PSone (as Dragon Warrior VII) all the way back in 2001, Dragon Quest VII underwent a remake for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013, although that remake targeted a Japanese audience only, and it is nice to see Square Enix finally step it up and deliver an English version. Expect the title to arrive some time next summer, which translates to a fair bit of waiting still from now.
