star warsThe next Star Wars movie will be released towards the end of the year. It’s safe to say that save for the movie’s director, producers, and execs at the movie studios, not many people have seen the movie. However it seems that one man by the name of Daniel Fleetwood managed to get to see the movie before the rest of us did.

This is thanks to the movie’s director J.J. Abrams who granted Fleetwood’s dying request. Prior to this, Fleetwood and his family had publicly campaigned to allow him to see the movie before he passed away. Fleetwood was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma and according to his doctor, he wasn’t expected to make it past September, meaning that every moment that he is alive is essentially on borrowed time.

Fleetwood’s campaign caught the attention of the actors in the film such as Mark Hamill and John Boyega who campaigned for him as well, and it looks like his wish was finally granted. In a post on Facebook by Ashley Fleetwood, Daniel’s wife, “Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!! We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Danjel was getting his wish granted!”

It looks like it was a happy ending for Fleetwood and his family after all. No word on how they felt about the movie, but then again this was an unedited version. However we can only hope that the movie was everything Fleetwood was hoping for and more.
