Facebook is on a quest to continuously improve itself, and that is to be expected if they are hoping to stay relevant and widely used by people from around the world. Recently the company introduced a new way of handling your breakups, and now it looks like they’re testing out a feature that makes forgetting your friends’ birthdays even harder.

Right now Facebook will remind you of birthdays. This is thanks to a listing on the side that mentions whose birthday it is, along with an icon in Messenger just in case it wasn’t obvious. However sometimes we might miss out the information on the side, which is why Facebook is now placing birthday reminders front and center.

As you can see in the screenshot above courtesy of Abby Ohlheiser from The Washington Post, that birthday reminder is pretty hard to miss, so if you were to not wish that person a happy birthday, it would be by choice and not because you forgot. Facebook confirmed the feature but said that it was one of a handful of features that they are testing in a bit to make the social network “present inside of the product, to build positive emotional experiences and show people that we care.”

We’re not sure if this feature will be sticking around once testing has been concluded, but what do you guys think of it? Is it a good idea, or do you find that it might be a bit too in your face/intrusive?
