Everybody knew that millions of people will get their hands on Fallout 4 the day it comes out, they have been waiting for a very long time for this title to arrive, so it’s so surprise to see Bethesda announce that Fallout 4 broke records on launch day. The title shipped a record 12 million copies worldwide on its first day alone resulting in sales of more than $750 million. Bethesda also said that Fallout 4 is responsible for record sales at physical stores as well as via digital download platforms for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

It’s imperative to point out here that Bethesda has not clarified precisely how many of the 12 million copies that it had shipped to retailers were actually sold to customers but the number is likely to be in the millions.

However it did claim of being told by major retailers that there’s tremendous interest from consumers regarding Fallout 4 with some even saying that this was the most pre-ordered game of 2015, it also said that the Pip-Boy edition become the fastest selling collector’s edition for any game in history at leading retailers.

Bethesda’s last record breaking title was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which shipped over 7 million copies to retailers in 48 hours and during that period some 3.5 million copies were sold to customers. By January 2014 Bethesda had sold 20 million copies worldwide.

It goes without saying that millions more will pick up Fallout 4, so we just have to sit back and see what kinds of numbers this very popular game achieves.
