Just in time for the holiday season T-Mobile has decided to add a new consumer electronic device to its lineup that a quite a few people might be picking up as we head into the lucrative shopping season. The carrier has confirmed that later this month it will start selling the consumer version of the Gear VR headset, Samsung has already launched this version of this virtual reality headset and it’s currently available for purchase online from the company and via retailers like Best Buy for $99.99.

By adding the virtual reality headset to its lineup T-Mobile says that it’s going to be the first wireless provider in the country to offer the Gear VR headset to its customers who will be able to purchase it from participating T-Mobile retail stores as well as through Magenta’s website for the same price of $99.99.

There’s absolutely no difference in the one T-Mobile is selling, even the price is same, so it doesn’t really make sense to head over to a T-Mobile store to purchase the Gear VR. Though you might consider picking one up if you’re buying a compatible smartphone from Magenta anyway and would like to get on the virtual reality bandwagon.

The Gear VR works with Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. There’s quite a bit of virtual reality content already available, including games, so at $99.99 the Gear VR is a good entry-point into the world of virtual reality.
