acer-Chromebook-R11__17If you currently own a Chromebook, you’re in luck because it turns out that Google is currently running a promotion. The company will be giving away three movies to Chromebook users, but there is a catch. We know this deal sounds pretty good but it seems that the movies they are giving away are in Standard Definition.

If you’re not too fussy about how sharp and clear your movies look, especially on today’s high resolution displays, then we suppose this isn’t a big deal. However for those who are a tad fussy, the Standard Definition resolution might be a bit of a bummer. The other catch is that it appears that there are only a handful of movies to choose from.

Some of these movies are pretty old and there are a couple that were recently released, but for the most part the selection appears to be limited, so don’t expect any recent blockbusters to have made that list. In any case we suppose this is free so we shouldn’t really be complaining. If you’d like to redeem it, head on over to Google’s website.

You will need to surf on over using your Chromebook, after which you will be given the promotional codes that you can then use in the Play Store.
