highlighted reviewsApp reviews are important because firstly they let users know if the app really does what it says it does and if it is worth downloading. It also serves to point out errors, bugs, and can also sometimes help identify malware disguised as apps that have snuck their way past app reviewers.

Now the Google Play Store already features app reviews at the bottom of the page but according to a report from Android Police, they could be thinking of changing the way reviews are displayed. Instead of displaying full reviews, this new feature would basically highlight portions of the review.

This means that at a glance, you’ll be able to see what’s good or bad about an app without having to dive into the entire review. So if you’re not looking for an extensive review and just want to know if it is good or bad, then the review highlights should be good enough to get the job done.

At the moment Android Police report that this feature is currently in limited testing meaning that not all users have access to it. It is unclear if Google will roll this feature out on a wider scale since testing could find that the feature is useful or not, but what do you guys think of it? Is this something you’d like to see in the future?
