lg gizmopalAccording to a leak earlier this week, it was suggested that LG and Verizon were getting ready to launch a pair of wearables aimed at kids. Looks like we didn’t have to wait too long to find out because Verizon and LG have officially taken the wraps off both devices, which as the previous leak revealed, are known as the LG GizmoGadget and the LG GizmoPal 2.

Appearance wise they both look similar. However the difference, at least as far as aesthetics are concerned, are in the straps. The GizmoPal 2 features slightly thinner straps. However in terms of features, the GizmoPal 2 is a completely different beast from its predecessor. For starters it will now feature a display.

The device acts more like a GPS that will keep parents informed of their children’s whereabouts and will feature LED status lights to indicate incoming calls or messages. The GizmoGadget on the other hand will be the larger of the two. It will also feature a display, but this time it will be a 1.3-inch touchscreen display.

It comes with fitness tracking features like a jump rope counter and pedometer. It can send emojis and pre-recorded messages. Both devices will be able to receive calls and text messages even though they are both technically not phones. The GizmoPal 2 is priced at $79 and the GizmoGadget will retail for $149.
