You don’t get to have the biggest title launch in a franchise’s history by not making sure that you provide the community with new and interesting content. 343 Industries is well aware of what it needs to do to make Halo 5 an even bigger hit so it has already provided a sneak peek at the next major content update for Halo 5, confirming that it adds Big Team Battle to the title.

The next major Halo 5 content update arrives in the coming week, it features Big Team Battle in Arena matchmaking, new REQs as well as a “whole ton of juicy vehicular combat.” Over the course of the next week 343 Industries will reveal more information about what we can expect from this content update.

For this purpose the developer brought in the community’s top Forgers, the likes of Warholic, The Psycho Duck, Nokyard and others, who provided feedback on Forge tools and features which aided in improvements being made across the entire feature set. They also worked on large-scale Big Team Battle maps that take inspiration from classic maps such as Standoff, Burial Mounds, Headlong and more.

Recurve

Forgers then handed off their maps to 343 Industries for further iteration and development while they continued to provide feedback and direction. They have been testing these new maps for the past few months and they have now been deemed good enough for Big Team Battle, the four new maps will be available in Arena matchmaking next week.

Maps include Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine and Recurve, they have been inspired by Standoff, Valhalla, Headlong and Longbow respectively.
