samsung logoThere are some parts in the world in which one brand does well, but not so well in another. For example while the PS4 and Xbox One are doing well in other parts of the world, both consoles aren’t doing so hot in the Japanese market. Now taking a look at the smartphone market scene, in the US Apple is clearly leading with way with a reported 43.6% market share.

Samsung on the other hand is sitting at 27.6%. However it seems that over in the Netherlands, it is a completely different story. According to a report from All About Phones (via TalkAndroid), it seems that Samsung is dominating the market with a massive market share of around 40%. This is versus Apple in which the Cupertino company is commanding a little more than half of what Samsung has at around 23%.

Nokia still seems to be alive and well in the country with a market share of about 10%, which is very surprising when you consider that brands such as HTC, Sony, and Huawei command about 5.3%, 4.4%, and 3.8% respectively. Like we said, sometimes some brands tend to do well in other markets and not so well in some.

We’re not sure what it is about Samsung’s phones that seems to be so well-received in the Netherlands but it is clear that they are doing very well there. Perhaps with the release of next year’s flagship from the South Korean tech giant, we could see Samsung’s lead in the country extend further.
