tmobile-signIs it true that during the holidays we might use more data than we normally would? Apparently T-Mobile thinks so. According to T-Mobile, “The holidays are for connecting with family and friends. In fact, data usage on T-Mobile’s network jumps more than 10% in December. The last thing customers want to worry about is their data, so T-Mobile is taking that worry away.”

We suppose that makes sense since we would have more downtime during the holidays and might use that time to catch up on shows, music, movies, chatting and video calling friends and family, shopping, and so on. Now T-Mobile estimates that the increase in data is about 10% more than usual, but in the spirit of the holidays, it looks like the carrier will be giving away more than 10% of free data.

T-Mobile has announced that as part of the holidays, they will be giving all active Simple Choice postpaid customers free unlimited 4G LTE data. This will kick off from the 1st of December and will run until March 1 2016. However note that this is only valid for customers who are already signed to T-Mobile’s network as of 23rd November 2015, so if you sign up tomorrow or the day after, you won’t qualify for this deal.

T-Mobile’s offering is no doubt a step up from what Verizon is offering, which is 2GB of free data but we suppose if you’re not a particularly data-heavy user, either deal is still pretty sweet.
