lg-g4-industrial-design-16The LG G4 was announced earlier this year which means that come 2016, there is a very good chance we might see the LG G5. Now thanks to a posting on Weibo in China, it seems that the upcoming handset’s alleged specs have been leaked, along with a possible announcement date as well.

For starters the announcement date of the phone is apparently set for February 2016. We can’t be sure if this is the announcement or release date, but basically the rumors claim that we could learn more about the device by then. Given that MWC 2016 takes place in February, we wouldn’t be surprised if the phone was announced then.

As far as its specs are concerned, the rumor claims that the upcoming LG G5 will feature a 5.6-inch display. This makes it 0.1-inches bigger than its predecessor. It will also continue to sport a QHD resolution so if you were hoping for a higher resolution like 4K, you might be disappointed, but then again do we really need such a high-res display?

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset is expected to be found along with a 21MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. There is speculation that LG could introduce a ticker-like display similar to the LG V10 but that remains to be seen. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what is your wishlist for the LG G5?
