sony-android-marshmallowA couple of months ago, Sony confirmed the list of smartphones that will be getting the upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Unsurprisingly the company’s latest smartphones part of the Xperia Z5 lineup were eligible for the upgrade, although the question really is when will these devices see the update?

Turns out that Xperia Z5 owners might not have to wait too long. According to a recent tweet by @Ricciolo1 (via PhoneArena), it has been suggested that the update will be making its way onto the Xperia Z5 lineup next month. According to his tweet, “As i said,an update has come yesterday, #marshmallow READY next month for #sony #z5 family..older #xperia models to follow shortly.. ;)”

That being said a release next month isn’t entirely out of the question. Last we checked, Sony was seeking users to help test the update, so a release shouldn’t be too far off. No doubt that this update is something that Android users can look forward to due to the various improvements and new features that Google has added.

For example there are a myriad of battery saving features like Stamina Mode and Doze, both of which aim to help cut down on the energy used by the phone. This ensures that your devices will be able to last much longer than usual. In any case Sony has not confirmed the release but we’ll keep an eye out for it all the same.
