adblock plusThe debate surrounding blocking ads on website is still ongoing, one which we foresee won’t be coming to an end anytime soon. Websites, such as ours, rely heavily on ads to generate revenue. However the argument is that some ads are annoying and disruptive, but since it would be impossible to block specific ads, it’s easier to just blank block them all.

Now if you are for the idea of ad blocking, you might be pleased to learn that ASUS and AdBlock Plus have recently entered into a partnership in which AdBlock will now be installed by default on the native web browsers of future ASUS devices. This was confirmed by AdBlock Plus’ CEO Till Faida.

According to Faida, “We’re extremely happy to team up with ASUS, the first major hardware manufacturer to integrate ad blocking into their mobile devices. This is another call for innovation in the ad industry—a call getting louder by the day.” This would be a rather controversial partnership especially when it has been estimated that AdBlock is said to be responsible for a $21.8 billion loss in revenue in 2015 alone.

However it would also seem that there are companies out there who are paying ad blocking services money in order to be whitelisted. Either way we have to wonder if this is a trend that we could soon see other manufacturers start to adopt in the future.
