With Marvel making so many movies, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that there are a lot of game developers and publishers out there who want a piece of the action as well. We have seen multiple video games based around the various Marvel movies that have been released, and thanks to recent footage, it looks like we could have almost been treated to an Avengers game with a twist.

For the most part there are many video games out there based around superheroes, but they tend to be of the third-party perspective variety. However according to the footage that made its way online, this showed that publisher THQ was working on an Avengers title that would allow players to play from a first-person perspective, essentially giving players the feeling of what it might be like to look through the eyes of an Avenger, like Thor, the Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and so on.

The game was originally in development several years ago and was supposed to be released around the same time as the first Avengers movie, but unfortunately it got cancelled. This was apparently due to THQ’s financial issues as opposed to the game being of poor quality. Will this game ever be revived? We suppose we’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime do check out the footage above and tell us whether you think an FPS Avengers game would have been awesome.
