china-flagJust how much of the food that we eat these days can be considered to be pure, unadulterated and has not been modified or used pesticides in any way? Other than heading down to your favorite organic shops, it can be pretty difficult to do on an ordinary supermarket shelf. Not only that, with word that the first genetically modified animal has been approved for human food consumption, here we are with more news that China themselves will begin to clone cattle in order to meet the rise in demand for beef, and more astonishingly, such meat could be made available as early as next year onward.

As you read this, a commercial animal cloning center is being constructed in China so that the world’s most populous country will be able to have an adequate supply of beef to the masses. BoyaLife, a global leading technology company, cites that this plant will be located in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin, where it also happens to be in a spot where the government has sponsored a business development park, calling it the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area.

This $31 million investment is tipped to kick off operations some time next year, where 100,000 cattle embryos will be produced annually, before hitting the one million mark. If it materializes, then it will be the world’s largest cloning facility, boasting of a gene storage area and a museum.
