It has been known for a while now that a new Yakuza game is in development, fans of the franchise will be excited to find out that Sega has released a new trailer today for its next Yakuza game. The franchise’s ever-present protagonist Kazuma Kiryu is featured in this trailer, and it shows Kiryu engaged in combat with a mob boss while also shining a spotlight on how the character uses Tokyo’s rooftops to move around.

It was back at the Tokyo Game Show in September this year that Sony confirmed that Yakuza 6 is going to be released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, while Sega has already confirmed that it’s working on a Yakuza remake. The last title released in this franchise was Yakuza 5 which initially came out in Japan back in 2012, it was finally released in the west on PlayStation 3 last week.

So far five main titles have been released in the Yakuza franchise with multiple spin offs, following the story of Kiryu’s release from prison and then his search for a childhood friend. Through the series Kiryu rises among the ranks of the Yakuza and even comes into conflict with some rival factions of the crime syndicate.

The two-minute trailer for Yakuza 6 is out today and it provides us with the very first glimpse of what is to come, from the looks of it, fans may not be disappointed with this new title.
