Android LollipopIt is no secret that the next major build of Android will be called Android N, but what does the “N” stand for? Right now we have Android M where M is known as Marshmallow, and previously we had Lollipop, before that KitKat, Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich, and etc., you get the idea. So what will N be known as?

The good news is that you could play a role in deciding what N will stand for. Speaking at a conference in India recently, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that the company could be considering launching an online poll in which users can vote to choose the name of the next Android build. In fact it could very well end up being an Indian name.

According to Pichai, “And if all Indians vote, I think we can make (an Indian name) it happen.” Given India’s vast population and how handsets like Android One are doing very well in the country, we suppose this could end up being a possibility. The name might end up sounding a bit foreign to Western Android users, but we’re all for diversity and it could be rather refreshing!

Of course this is not a guarantee but what do you guys think? What do you think Android N should be named as in terms of a sweet/dessert?
