google_android_dialerIf you love the stock Android experience but you’re a bit bummed that your OEM has decided to opt for a heavily-skinned look, you’re in luck. It seems that Google has recently published the stock Android phone dialer and contacts app onto Google Play, so if you wanted a stock Android experience, these apps will get you closer to it.

Unfortunately for some reason Google has decided to pull the apps from the Play Store. We’re not sure why they decided to do that. It could be that the apps were published by mistake and were never meant to go live, or that they went live a little earlier than expected. Either way for those who are interested, the APKs are available for download for both the phone dialer and the contacts app, you’ll just have to sideload them which isn’t that hard to do to be honest.

Prior to this, the stock Android apps were only available on Google Nexus devices, Android One handsets, and Google Play Edition devices, so if you’re not using any of those then perhaps these apps could be worth checking out if you’re after a more clean and straightforward design when it comes to your phone dialer and contacts.
