huawei-honor-7__02Huawei’s phones have typically launched in markets in Asia, although every now and then we do see Huawei devices make their way stateside, albeit through grey market imports. However it seems that Huawei could be finally making its way to the US officially, although it will be through one of the company’s sub-brands.

For those unfamiliar, it seems that Huawei has a sub-brand called Honor (like the recently launched Huawei Honor 7). This was confirmed by George Zhao, President of Honor Global, where he stated that the company will be sharing additional details of this expansion into the US at CES 2016 which is expected to kick off in January 2016.

According to Zhao who made the speech at Honor’s 2nd anniversary in Shenzhen, China, “The United States market is the highest end market for Huawei, so we have been planning for a very long time. The International CES is planned for January, as you know, so you should expect to hear more about our United States plan at that time.”

Safe to say that it’s still too early to say what kind of phones we might be able to expect from the Honor brand to arrive stateside, but it has been speculated that Honor 5X that was launched in October could be one of them, and that a US variant might be in the works and could be announced at CES 2016.
