11 year old Tontrevion Campbell went to church with his mother on Sunday and during the time they were there burglars broke into their house and stole several items, which included the 11 year old’s Xbox. Not only that, the burgulars also made off with every single game that the kid had with the console. It’s heartbreaking to say the least, but officers of the Memphis Police Department went above and beyond the call of duty when they decided to pitch in and buy the kid a new Xbox.
The officers came to known that this console was handed down to Campbell from someone else, and yet it still meant the world to him. Tontrevion even told officers that he wouldn’t be asking Santa for a new one because “My mom works long hours and several jobs…she uses that money to just pay the bills.”
Officers Jerry Graves, Antonio Martin, Antwan Cooper and Justin Bourland were moved by the ordeal and exhibited outstanding generosity by pooling together money to purchase a new Xbox and three games for Tontrevion. They didn’t try to be grand about it either, instead they just went back to his house and showed him the new Xbox, asking whether it belonged to him. To this he replied: “No sir, mine was older.”
Tontrevion was then presented with his new Xbox which he was visibly happy to receive, “Just to be able to alleviate some of their stress, just for that day and actually help the family in this time like Christmas, it really was an overwhelming feeling,” said Officer Antonio Martin.
