flex-2-review-31When it comes to smartphones with curved displays, LG has a couple of such devices, like the LG G Flex and the G Flex 2. It’s pretty obvious that neither device can be considered a hit, at least not compared to Samsung’s Edge series of smartphones with curved side displays. However it seems that LG might have a new phone in the works.

According to a tweet by @evleaks, he has revealed that LG is working on a curved smartphone. We know, you’re probably thinking the LG G Flex 3 or something similar, right? Nope, that’s not it. @evleaks claims that this time, the display will actually curve and wrap over the top of the device. It’s a bit hard to imagine what it could look like, but we’re imagining the Samsung Edge phone, except that its display curves over the top, not sides.

That would be an interesting approach but in terms of practicality, we’re not sure how it might work out. For example the curved side displays of the Edge series of phones works because they can display information on its sides, and also act as menus where users can swipe in from the left or right.

Putting curved displays and having it wrap over the top of the device might result in a rather awkward design, but this is just speculation. If the rumor is true, chances are LG has an idea of what they want to do with it but what say you? What kind of features/functions would such a smartphone have?
