The world can be a very cruel place, and sometimes, we just have to put up with it. A supervisor from San Francisco, Scott Wiener, was making his way toward a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station from his home when he stopped at a red light before whipping out his iPhone to refer to the handset’s calendar. That proved to be the opening that a team of muggers moved in, with a lady and a couple of men grabbing his handset.
Wiener began negotiating that he would like his iPhone back, and she insisted that the phone will be returned in exchange for some cash. While the original asking price stood at $500, it was eventually bargained to the $200 mark. Wiener then made his way to an ATM machine with the muggers, and let them stand in front of the ATM’s camera which captured surveillance photos.
Wiener also adamantly refused to pass the cash over until he had his phone, and vice versa for the muggers. Hence, they both requested the aid of a bystander to back the swap, and when both sides got what they wanted, Wiener alerted the police to his situation and subsequently, the woman was arrested, while her two accomplices remained at large.
