pokemon tournament controllerA couple of weeks ago we reported that over in Japan, the official Pokkén Tournament Wii U controller was unveiled. However given that the announcement was made in Japan and sometimes how certain products in Japan don’t necessarily make their way stateside, it was unclear if gamers in the US could expect the device as well.

The good news is that you can. According to a report from Destructoid, they have spotted the controller being listed on Amazon’s website. The listing suggests that the controller will be released on the 18th of March, 2016. We can’t say for sure that this release date is fixed and a certainty, but it is one that gamers can look forward to if they are interested in getting their hands on the controller.

The listing has also revealed its price which is set at $24.99. The game is currently scheduled for a release in Q2 2016, so that’s why we are a little unsure if the controller will indeed be released in March which is technically still Q1. We suppose it could be released earlier but from what we’ve seen in previous releases, companies tend to prefer scheduling hardware and software releases side-by-side.

In any case, the controller is basically similar to the arcade version so if you have played the arcade version of the game using the controller, your experience should not vary too much.
