Ephemeral messaging service Snapchat is suffering an extended outage today that’s making the lives of quite a bit of its users not that easy, since they’re not able to Snapchat all of the interesting things happening in their day. Snapchat would like them all to keep calm, it has acknowledge that there is indeed an issue with the service and that the team is working on a fix that should be arriving very soon.

Many Snapchat users have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the downtime, the company issued the call for calm through its own official Twitter account, saying that some Snapchatters are currently experiencing loading issues. “Our team is aware of the problem and working on a fix now!,” it further added.

According to reports as many as 41 percent of Snapchat users are experiencing loading issues and a smaller number of users are unable to even send or receive snaps at all using the app.

It’s not uncommon for a service such as Snapchat to suffer from downtime, it’s a routine matter and the fix doesn’t really take too long to come around. The team that’s working on eliminating issues for all users will apply the fix in the background so users will find that the service has just started working again.

There’s no need to issue an actual app update to take care of the matter. If the company’s estimate of “soon” is anything to go by it may not take more than a couple of hours for the extended outage to be fixed.
