At the moment there are plenty of Star Wars related toys that one can buy, and save for the lightsaber, we reckon Sphero’s BB-8 droid has to be one of the coolest toys around at the moment. The device was launched several months ago and the good news is that if you own the device, an update has been issued to the app.
This update is a pretty cool update as it basically introduces movie-true BB-8 sounds. This means if you’ve seen the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, then the update will grant your BB-8 droids sound effects identical to the movie, something that we can only imagine fans will love.
The update will also introduce 4 new droid commander buttons, so if you haven’t updated the app already, head on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the download. For those who are unfamiliar with the toy, basically the BB-8 toy was created by Sphero and is modeled after the same droid found in the new Star Wars movie.
It is remotely controlled via an app on your smartphone or tablet, and due to the way it has been designed, it moves (rolls like a ball) similar to how the droid moves in the movie. Thanks to a magnet, it allows the head of the droid to remain on top while its body spins. You can check out the BB-8 droid by Sphero in action in the video above.
