Flappy Bird was a huge hit back in 2014 and if the reports are to be believed, its creator was pulling in a very, very impressive $50,000 a day from ads alone. However apparently despite the huge amount of money Dong Nguyen was making, he decided to walk away from it all by pulling the game from its respective app stores.

However he later returned with more games, one of which is Swing Copters and the good news is that if you wanted to see what else Nguyen and his Dotgears studio had up their sleeves, you’re in luck because it looks like Swing Copters 2 has been officially launched (sorry to those of you who expected a Flappy Bird sequel).

Swing Copters 2 appears to maintain the same gameplay as the original, which we guess is to be expected if it wanted to be a sequel. However there are some changes made such as introducing new characters, as well as introducing in-app purchases where gamers can pay to remove the ads from the game as well as to unlock additional characters.

It also seems to be more polished than its predecessor. According to Nguyen, “At first, we just wanted to refine the artwork for Swing Copters and to release it as an update for the current app. However, at the time, I was working on another co-op project in Japan, and I created two characters Fabi and Spinki for that project. I thought it should be great if we can somehow put those two characters into Swing Copters as well. And Fabi Crasher and Spinki Falling of Swing Copters 2 were born like that.”

The app is available on both iOS and Android, so pop on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the free download. In the meantime you can watch the gameplay video above by Lonniedos.
