moto-g-2015

It appears that Motorola is sending out a Christmas treat for those in the United States that own an unlocked Moto G 2015. Several users are reporting that they have received the much awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on their handset, with some users from Canada also chiming in to reiterate the claims. Motorola previously had a soak test for this update underway so it’s not surprising to see it come out without any prior notice. Soak tests are generally an indication that a public release is just around the corner.

It was only a couple of days ago that Motorola released said update for the Moto X Pure Edition, seeing as how the Moto G 2015 is one of the more recent devices in its lineup, it’s about time that Motorola is showing some Marshmallow love for this device.

Those who own the Moto G 2015 can head over to their Settings app, tap on About Phone followed by System Updates to check if the update has gone live for their region as yet. It weighs about 460MB and brings several new features for the handset aside from user interface enhancements.

Over-the-air updates do tend to take some time before they become available for everybody so be patient if you don’t immediately see the update notification on your unlocked Moto G 2015, it will come in due time.
