xbox_live_statusThe holidays are nearly upon us which means that many of us will be home and that many of us will finally have the free time to play the games we’ve been meaning to play. However a recent report has suggested that hackers might attempt to ruin our holidays by bringing down the Xbox Live and PSN networks.

However could the attacks have already begun? According to reports, it seems that there are many users who are experiencing issues trying to sign into their Xbox Live accounts. Note that this could just be a simple connectivity issue and nothing major, so this is just speculation on our part, but the connectivity issues are still very real.

According to the Xbox Live Status page, the issues are still ongoing and has been that way for the past few hours. The issues have affected buying items, redeeming codes, and downloading purchases, as well as signing in, creating an account, managing an account, or trying to recover their account or searching for an account.

This applies to the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 consoles. We should point out that this isn’t the first time that Xbox Live has experienced such issues and usually they are cleared up within a few hours, so until Microsoft gets a handle on this, know that you’re not alone if you’re having trouble connecting to the service. In the meantime you can keep an eye out on the status page for more updates.
