Amazon has announced today that it’s expanding Amazon Prime Video to the United States military members and their families overseas, this latest move is part of its efforts to expand its video library to those who live on U.S. military bases across the globe. Amazon has already been providing this service on selected bases scattered in Kuwait, Japan, Turkey and Afghanistan, it’s now doing the same for several other bases as well.

Amazon has also teamed up with the American Forces Network to bring its original series to military personnel and their families. AFN is a global radio and TV broadcast network which is available on military bases as well as 140 U.S. Navy ships at sea.

AFN will broadcast Amazon original series including but not limited to Transparent, Alpha House, Bosch and The Man in the High Castle. The original series from Amazon will air weekly on AFN starting January 11th, 2016.

The company has also put up a list of bases where this service has already been unblocked, it hasn’t revealed as yet on which bases the service will be unblocked next, only saying that it’s going to “continue unblocking” the Prime Video on more bases throughout 2016.

Military personnel and their family members who reside on their bases would then be able to access the U.S. library of Amazon Prime Video and stream all of the content from any device where Amazon’s video streaming service works.
