apple_logoWe know that Apple is ambitious but could they be ambitious enough to want to buyout Time Warner? It does sound a bit ludicrous but according to a report from the New York Post, they have heard that the Cupertino company is said to be keeping a very close eye on any potential buyout opportunities.

At the moment Time Warner is under pressure from activists to sell themselves or spin off some of their assets, according to the Post’s sources, which is why Apple is said to be watching very closely for a chance to purchase said assets, or maybe even buyout the company in its entirety. So why would Apple want a company like Time Warner?

Sources claim that the reason behind this is to help accelerate their TV plans. Prior to the launch of the new Apple TV, there were rumors to suggest that Apple was looking at original programming and by acquiring Time Warner or its assets, it would certainly go a long way in helping Apple achieve that goal.

Not to mention it would also give Apple a host of existing content from the likes of CNN, Turner Sports, along with Warner Bros. movies and TV shows. Like we said, this does sound rather outlandish and extremely ambitious, so do take it with a huge dose of salt for now, but hypothetically speaking, what do you think of this potential buyout?
