AppLockFingerprint sensors on smartphones these days are starting to become more common, and to a certain extent they are almost expected as well. While they do a good job of locking our phones and preventing others from viewing the contents, what if we wanted to protect our apps and data even when our phones are unlocked?

Some apps do offer an extra layer of security, but in case the app you use doesn’t, you might be interested in checking out an app called AppLock. As you can see in the screenshots above and the name of the app, this app will lock and secure your apps that only you can unlock using your fingerprint.

This means that if you wanted to prevent people from opening your messenger apps like Hangouts, WhatsApp, LINE, Skype, and etc., just enable AppLock and whenever you launch said app, you will be greeted by the blue screen in the middle asking for your fingerprint. So far reviews of the app are largely positive, save for one niggling factor.

The app is free (which is great news), but the downside is that there is a banner app that appears on the bottom. There is no option to remove it and based on the reviews, many seem to be happy to pay to have it removed. However apart from that it seems that it does what it advertises, so if you’d like to get your hands on it, head on over to the Google Play Store for the download.
