t-mobile binge onThere has been a lot of fuss surrounding T-Mobile’s Binge On service, namely due to the fact that it seems that the carrier actually throttles the videos that aren’t part of the service. However this can be fixed easily just by disabling Binge On, although some like the EFF have argued that the service should have been opt-in in the first place.

That being said, the good news is that if you’d rather not navigate T-Mobile’s website to go to your account to enable or disable the service, the short codes for Binge On are now available, meaning that you can enable or disable the service via your phone’s dialer whenever you wish, which we reckon is a more efficient way.

To check on the status of Binge On on your phone, just dial #264#, which will tell you if the service has been enabled or disabled on your account. If you’d like to turn it on, dial #266#. To turn it off, dial #263#. They’re short and easy to remember, so take that into account the next time you want to enable or disable it.

The downside to disabling it means that all your videos will eat into your data cap. If you’re an unlimited user then it should be no big deal, but if you’re limited then you could find yourself running out of data pretty fast. The upside is that you get to watch videos at faster speeds and at better quality.
