hackWhile the US is trying to convince tech companies like Apple and Google that giving them backdoor access is in the interest of national security, other countries like the UK and China have already enacted laws that would basically give them more access and legal means to spy on its own citizens.

If you’re worried that this seems to be the path that governments will be headed down, maybe you might want to consider moving to the Netherlands. According to a report from The Daily Dot, it seems that the Dutch government is actually against backdoors and if anything, they are demanding even stronger encryption.

According to Ard van der Steur, the Dutch minister of security and justice, he has emphasized  “the importance of strong encryption for Internet security to support the protection of privacy for citizens, companies, the government, and the entire Dutch economy.” So much so that he states, “Therefore, the government believes that it is currently not desirable to take legal measures against the development, availability and use of encryption within the Netherlands.”

He also states that by weakening encryption, it will expose internet traffic to criminals, terrorists, and other foreign intelligence agencies, all of which makes sense. So, anyone have any plans to move to the Netherlands after hearing this?
