Many of you might have owned the Game Boy Micro at some point in your life, the Nintendo console was actually quite wonderful, and now there’s a successor that you can get even though it’s not Nintendo that has come out with it. A guy called Anthony Thomas has started a new service called Game Boy Macro through which he transforms the Nintendo DS into what he calls the Game Boy Macro.

There was a time when the Nintendo DSNintendo DS was a very popular handheld console but it’s not anymore. If you owned one and it’s still alive and kicking then you can use this service to have it modified into a Game Boy Micro.

Thomas chucks out the second screen of the Nintendo DS, which means you can no longer play native DS games on it, repositions the speakers, paints it to complete its transformation. It’s even possible to go for custom case colors when placing an order.

It does come at a price though. If you provide the Nintendo DS then it’s going to cost $110, or if you just want Thomas to provide everything then it’s going to cost $130 while custom colors are an additional $10.

You will have to wait if you’re interested in getting your hands on an unofficial Game Boy Macro. Thomas is currently focused on shipping the first round of orders and isn’t taking any more orders for now, but there’s a waiting list that you can sign up on to be notified when he starts taking orders again.
