google-maps-madridIn the world of soccer (football as the rest of the world outside of North America knows it), there are many different kinds of rivalries involving teams in the same city or country, where we have the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, where the latter has pulled off some amazing football feats of its own in the past few years. Well, Google Maps must be a wee bit cheeky to choose Atletico over Real in terms of football superiority in Madrid. How, you ask? Well, it looks like whoever searches for the key phrase in the club’s anthem, coraje y corazon (courage and heart), will be led straight to Atletico’s home stadium, the Vicente Calderon.

However, if you were to “comepipas”, which means “seed-eaters”, and that is definitely not a too positive term where Spanish folks are concerned, then you will be sent straight to Real’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. A “seed-eater” is more often than not used to describe groups of fans who do little to create an atmosphere within the stadium.

Of course, the results will not be consistent depending on the country’s Google Maps, although you can always give it a go at Spain’s version over at google.es, with Vicente Calderon (https://www.google.es/maps?q=coraje y corazon) and the Bernabeu (https://www.google.es/maps?q=comepipas).
