gta online drop zoneIf you’ve seen anime, chances are you might have see a lot of scenes where characters do battle in the sky. It’s pretty awesome, and now you will be able to enact it, sort of, thanks to a recent update to Rockstar’s GTA Online mode. The update adds a mode called Drop Zone which basically sees players jump from Cargobobs, battling it out on the way down and also on the ground when they land.

According to the description provided by Rockstar, “In this new Adversary Mode, teams of paratroopers jump from Cargobobs hovering high above, then race to the ground to seize and maintain control of a small, exposed patch of terra firma. No man is an island here – you and your squad mates will need to attack and defend as a unit.”

The mode will allow up to 16 players to play at once in four different teams. The first team to be able to hold the drop zone for 2 continuous minutes basically wins the match. There will be five different Drop Zone maps available, and each has been designed with different terrains, so a strategy that was used successfully on one map might not necessarily be applicable to another.

In addition to Drop Zone, the update to GTA Online also adds new vehicles in the form of the Karin Sultan and Bravado Banshee, which can also be upgraded to the  Karin Sultan RS and the Bravado Banshee 900R respectively.
