ios_93_3d_touchiOS 9.3 is expected to be a pretty major update that will add a fair number of new features to Apple’s mobile operating system, but more importantly for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus owners, you will be pleased to learn that 3D Touch will also be getting more functional as Apple will be adding more functions to the feature as well.

For those unfamiliar with 3D Touch, it allows the user to perform more commands or pull up menus and shortcuts just by pressing down hard on the screen. For example, you can preview messages by pressing hard on the screen as opposed to having to open it in the app. While it does have potential, it has been argued that it could be improved upon, which is what iOS 9.3 is trying to do.

Some new additions to 3D Touch include support for the Weather app where you can launch the weather for the different locations that you’ve saved. It also applies to the Health app where you can display the dashboard or show your Medical ID. It has also been integrated to the App Store where users can search for apps, update apps, or redeem gift cards.

There is also new shortcuts for the Settings menu where users can quickly enter the battery menu, WiFi, Bluetooth, or even change the wallpaper. In addition to the improvements made to 3D Touch, iOS 9.3 will also introduce changes to WiFi Assist, a new feature called Night Shift, multi-user support for the iPad, and a more secure version of Notes.
