Videoconferencing in the workplace is pretty common. It can be used to connect with employees based in other states or countries, or it could also be used to chat with clients without having them to come down to your offices and vice versa. Skype is currently one of the more popular choices, having been around for a while, but there is a new player in town that could give them a run for their money.

Dubbed Kollective Konnector, this is a platform created by Kollective, a cloud-based software networking company. One of the advantages of Kollective Konnector is the ability to simultaneously reach thousands of users at once, a limitation that other platforms might face at the moment. This is thanks to the fact that the platform is a cloud-based platform.

It also does not require users to own any expensive hardware as any consumer-grade webcam will work just fine. According to Kollective President Todd Johnson, “Traditional video conferencing systems were not intended to broadcast an interactive meeting to a large number of viewers, but there is an increasing business need to do so. Kollective Konnector meets that demand because it is designed specifically to leverage the Kollective SD ECDN in order to deliver video and audio at scale.”

The platform will feature live encoding servers so that it will be able to groom video and audio streams before feeding them into the platform’s SD ECDN for distribution. There is also an administration portal to allow users to setup live events and video conferences. If you are a business that sees potential in Kollective Konnector, then head on over to its website for the details.
