lg logoHmmm, when you take into account two companies – LG and Oppo, you would realize that one of them happens to be a well established brand name, while the other remains as a fledgling company from China. In fact, we brought you word earlier this morning that Oppo of China actually sold 50 million smartphones in the year 2015 alone – now how about that? And when you take into consideration the entire year of 2015 for LG Electronics, it seems that the South Korean conglomerate has shifted approximately 60 million smartphones, meaning a player like Oppo is not too far behind.

Around 15.3 million smartphones that the company sold in the last quarter of the year, close to 11 million of them were LTE models. This is an achievement by itself, since it marks the very first time that the quarterly sales of LG’s LTE-powered smartphones have managed to surpass the 10 million mark.

Taking into consideration how LG has outlined plans to introduce two new flagship smartphones for the year ahead (perhaps to keep up with the rest of the industry, where Samsung has the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge as well as the Galaxy Note5, while Apple has the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s?), it looks as though LG will be growing from strength to strength in this department.
