lg play mwc 2016CES is over and if you were slightly disappointed that there weren’t enough phone-related announcements from your favorite manufacturers, fret not because if you have been following the tech scene, you know that MWC 2016 will be kicking off next month. For those unfamiliar, MWC can be described at similar to CES, except that it will be mostly mobile-centric.

That being said if you’re eager to see what kind of new devices LG might have, the company has recently started to send out invites to its press conference for MWC 2016. Of course, this isn’t an actual invite to attend the conference, but rather an invite to remind you that the conference will begin on the 21st of February at 2 PM, Barcelona time.

As you can see in the invite’s image, it shows some kind of jack-in-the-box device that’s a mixture of different shades of green with a diamond pattern, and the words “play begins”. We’re not sure what this is supposed to mean, but presumably, we can expect LG to announce their next-gen flagship smartphone, the LG G5.

We have been hearing rumors about the LG G5, such as how it will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset and sport a 5.3-inch QHD display. There are even rumors that it will feature a metal unibody design, a nice change of pace from the plastic and leather combinations that they have used in the past. In any case, we guess we’ll just have to wait and see, so do check back with us then for the details.
