Are you looking to get your hands on a new MacBook computer? If you are, you might be interested to learn that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is pretty certain that we can expect Apple to announce new MacBook upgrades in the first half of 2016. Given that Apple’s March event is typically reserved for MacBook-related announcements, this doesn’t really come as a surprise.
According to Kuo, he also notes that this year will be a big year for Apple’s MacBook lineup. Apparently the laptops have seen some “solid growth” amongst businesses, which he believes will only grow as Apple introduces newer, and more powerful models. Kuo did not mention which laptops will receive upgrades, but it’s not hard to speculate.
The 12-inch MacBook, MacBook Air, and the MacBook Pros haven’t been upgraded for nearly a year, meaning that assuming Apple keeps to an annual refresh cycle, all three laptops are prime for updates in the first half of 2016. It is expected that Apple will most likely be outfitting their laptop upgrades with Intel’s Skylake processors, which not only improves on speed but also improves energy efficiency, making them less battery intensive.
Other than that, we’re not sure what kind of new features we can look forward to, or if Apple might introduce a new design, and so on. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so if you are in the market for a new MacBook, perhaps holding off for the next few months might be a good idea.
