For over a year now it has been rumored that Apple is secretly working on an electric car project, Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk has said that Apple’s electric car plans are an open secret, and that makes us wonder if and when the company is going to reveal some information about this project to the public. That might take a long time but if a new report is to be believed, the manager who was in charge of the company’s electric car project is apparently leaving the company.

Steve Zadesky, the man in question, has been with Apple for over 16 years. His departure doesn’t mean that Apple is giving up on its electric car ambitions, the report reveals that his departure is not due to how things are coming along and that that’s not the reason why he’s leaving.

The Wall Street Journal claims in its report that Zadesky is actually leaving his position at Apple, and giving up the charge of the company’s electric car project in the process, not because of performance reasons but for his own personal reasons. However it’s unclear how his departure is going to affect the plans and more importantly who the company is going to tap next to lead this project.

Apple has been in business for a very long time but it has never been in the business of making or selling cars. If it does come out with an electric car it may have big implications for its business, only time will tell if those implications will turn out to be good or bad for the company.
