ms_news_proWith iOS 9, Apple introduced a new feature in the form of News. This feature is meant to compete with the likes of other news services like Flipboard, although it seems that to date there doesn’t seem to be a lot of traction with regards to the feature. That being said, it looks like Microsoft might be trying to tempt iOS users with their own app.

Microsoft Garage has recently launched its own news app for iOS dubbed News Pro. It is only available for iOS users and only seems to be available for users living in the US. However instead of combing for news topics that are based on your personal interests or hobbies, News Pro will approach it from a different angle by providing you with news based on your job.

According to the app’s description, “News Pro helps you search for news around your work every day. Fuel your unique interests with over a million topics to choose from. Get informed efficiently by locating the most important and relevant articles each day based off what interests you. Leverage the power of social networks for your daily news.”

Of course this isn’t to say that the app can’t be used for other kinds of news based on your interests or hobbies, but if you’re the type that needs to stay updated about their field or industry on the go, then News Pro could be worth checking out. Note that there is a web app version for those who’d prefer using the service that way, but if not you can hop on over to the iTunes App Store for the app download.
