Last October, Nintendo announced their first mobile game called Miitomo. The game was originally supposed to launch by the end of 2015, but was later delayed to 2016 with an estimation of March. The good news is that Nintendo has since confirmed that the game is indeed on track for a March release.

This is according to an interview with Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun (as translated by Dr. Serkan Toto) in which Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed that we will indeed be seeing the game’s release in March. No specific dates were mentioned, so we guess we’ll just have to wait for further announcements.

It is unclear which platforms it will be launched on, but presumably at the very least iOS and Android are on the cards. For those hearing about Miitomo for the first time, this is Nintendo’s first mobile gaming effort. The game is more of a social game rather than an action, puzzle, or RPG kind of game.

It involves users creating avatars and interacting with other gamers, which we guess you could liken to The Sims Online, Second Life, or Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life. We’re sure many would have preferred a game more familiar, but fret not as such titles are expected to be released later this year as well.
