freedom-pop

FreedomPop has become quite popular in the United States courtesy of its free and simple mobile plans. It has been operating in the country for quite some time now and has even started offering its services in the United Kingdom. FreedomPop is taking its service one step further with the launch of a new roaming SIM today that’s available to customers in both the U.S. and the UK, this new plan also features international data.

FreedomPop is calling it the Global SIM, it’s going to work across the United States and most European countries initially, but the end of this year it hopes to expand coverage to countries in Latin America, Southeast Asia and beyond.

The Global SIM is priced at $10 which provides access to the basic service that includes 200MB of 3G/4G data each month that can be used in any of the supported countries, regardless of where the SIM was bought, with no additional charge.

If users end up burning through the 200MB allowance they will have the option to purchase more data, 500MB costs an additional $10, bulk purchases at $50 for 4GB will end up saving money.

FreedomPop is also going to allow users to add services like virtual numbers and the ability to roll over data to the Global SIM for nominal monthly charges, otherwise, users can stick with the basic service to have an easy and cost-effective data plan when traveling abroad.
