xiaomi_redmi_note_3Just the other day Xiaomi announced the Redmi 3, but as it turns out that’s not all the company had up their sleeves. The Chinese company has since officially announced a new phone in the form of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which from what we can tell seems to be a larger and slightly more powerful version of the Redmi 3.

The Redmi Note 3 will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and under the hood, it is graced by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset. This is a hexacore processor clocked at 1.8GHz and is accompanied by an Adreno 510 GPU. There is also 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Alternatively, there is also a 2GB RAM and 16GB model which will be cheaper.

Apart from the RAM and storage difference, the phone will feature a 16MP rear-facing camera with phase detection autofocus along with an aperture of f/2.0. It sports a 5MP front-facing camera, a fingerprint sensor, and will come with a host of connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, VoLTE, and etc.

In terms of availability, it seems that Xiaomi isn’t quite ready for the US market yet. However it is expected to launch in China come 17th of January where the 2GB RAM/16GB model is priced at around $152. The 3GB RAM/32GB model’s pricing and availability is still unknown.
