Self-driving cars are going to be a staple in the future in one form or the other, everybody from tech giants to conventional car manufacturers have their sights set on this revolutionary new technology and they want to be the first ones to reap some benefit from it. It won’t surprise you to find out that one of the biggest conglomerates on the planet is also working on self-driving cars. Samsung actually has its own track to test these vehicles on.

The Speedway motor racecourse at Everland is an amusement park run by Samsung C&T in Yongin, Gyeonggi, and it’s going to be used as a test track for the company’s autonomous cars, according to a report out of Korea.

It has been announced by Samsung and the Gyeonggi government that this race track is going to be remodeled so that it’s better suited to testing driverless cars, they’re also going to build elements the car is going to encounter in urban environments like crossings and varying road conditions to test the reliability and safety of its self-driving car technology

A Samsung representative quoted in the report says that it’s difficult to find the space to built a track just for this purpose, and since Samsung already owns the Speedway, it just needs to make some modifications to it so that it’s the perfect testbed for its self-driving car technology.

Samsung may have its own track for testing these cars, but Ford has an entire city.
