sega-3d-classicsIt was considered sacrilege to have Microsoft software on Apple hardware many, many years ago, and thankfully, practical issues have since seen old rivalries being brought to a screeching halt and relegated to the past, as companies realize that it is far better to work in synergy with one another. Sega and Nintendo would be another classic rivalry to take note, but it seems that their hatchet remains buried with Sega announcing that the Sega 3D Classics Collection will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS platform this coming April 26 for $30 a pop.

In the Sega 3D Classics Collection, it will offer games that players could have already accessed from 3DS eShop such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Altered Beast, and Thunder Blade. However, that is not all, as Sega decided to throw in a couple of new remasters which have not been introduced outside of Japan to date – Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2.

With Nintendo claiming that they will not ditch the 3DS platform, it is nice to see the house of Mario and the house of Sonic come together once again, with the sole purpose of delivering joy and game time to their fans on a hugely popular portable format. Any takers for the Sega 3D Classics Collection?
