street fighter 5When it comes to the Street Fighter series, it has a story to it, although given that the series is more of an arcade fighting game rather than an RPG, obviously its story isn’t as fleshed out compared to games like World of Warcraft, Diablo, Assassin’s Creed, and etc. However for those wanting to learn more about the Street Fighter universe, you could be in luck.

According to a report from Hadoken.net (via Attack of the Fanboy), an interview with Street Fighter V’s producer Yoshinori Ono has revealed that the upcoming game could be getting an extensive story mode. Details of the story were not confirmed for obvious reasons, but Ono did confirm that a more extensive story mode will be available in the game.

Ono was quoted as saying, “The team is aware of the high demand for a story mode. With SFV, at launch, we’ll be offering a prologue which introduces players to the characters and the world of Street Fighter V. As for the type of large-scale narrative everyone is hoping for, we’ll have more details to announce in the very near future, so please stay tuned.”

In the meantime for gamers who are looking forward to the game, its release has been set for the 16th of February where it will launch on the PC and the PlayStation 4, so if you haven’t pre-ordered the game already, maybe you should go ahead and do so.
